Editorial policy
Fresh Civic Journal aims to be careful, independent and plain-spoken. We explain what a piece can support, distinguish fact from interpretation and correct errors when they are brought to our attention.
Accuracy and care
We check names, dates and factual claims against suitable material before publication, and take care not to imply more certainty than the available information allows. Articles should make clear when they describe a general approach rather than a practice shared by every community. We do not invent sources, quotations or experience.
Independence and interests
Editorial decisions are made for readers, not as a condition of a partnership. Relevant interests or relationships that could affect how a piece is read will be disclosed alongside it. A partner does not receive editorial control over independent coverage.
Corrections
If you notice a factual error or unclear passage, contact us through the Contact page and identify the article and the point at issue. We review correction requests, amend substantiated errors and make significant changes clear to readers where appropriate.
Paid and partner material
Material created as part of a paid collaboration is clearly labelled as such. Partner placements and links are also identified so readers can distinguish them from independent editorial recommendations.
