Write for us
Fresh Civic Journal welcomes thoughtful pitches about rural community life: shared places, local gatherings, group habits, community memory and the know-how people pass along. A strong idea gives readers a clear subject to think about without pretending one village stands for all.
What makes a useful pitch
Send a short summary of the proposed piece, its central question, the category it might fit and why it will remain useful to readers. Say what the piece can explain or help a reader notice. Specific, distinct subjects are more useful than broad claims about rural life.
Our preferred approach
We look for clear language, careful distinctions and respect for local differences. Practical pieces should offer safe, broadly usable ideas without relying on professional advice or rules that vary by place. We do not accept invented evidence, undisclosed promotional copy or work presented as personal experience when it is not.
How to send a proposal
Send your pitch through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Please include your proposed title and a concise outline in the message. A proposal is not a promise of publication, and we cannot guarantee a response time.
